Investors In People

The Investors in People Standard is a national quality standard which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people. It provides a framework for improving organisational performance and competitiveness through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet these objectives.

Investors in People was developed in the 80's in collaboration with leading UK businesses. it is now recognised as a leading business improvement tool and quality standard and is the only one which is ‘people orientated'. The framework was developed to support businesses through times of change and economic uncertainty using recognised best practice.

Investors in People is based upon a tried and tested framework of good business practices, using ten key principles. The framework has been adapted so it is flexible enabling you to tailor your experience around your business priorities.

North East Business Solutions Ltd. can assist organisations to develop bespoke systems and procedures to address the requirements of the framework.

The Standard is suitable for all sizes and sectors of businesses, including education and the voluntary sector.

The framework has been developed to follow the business cycle (Plan-Do-Review) allowing management to choose the most relevant parts of the framework to work with in line with business objectives, targets and people development policies. This gives you more value for money and an assessment process that will provide specific development points to help you achieve your objectives. Therefore, making the Investors in People framework relevant to all organisations regardless of age, size or sector.

Recent research conducted by the IES noted ‘the typical organisation that currently does not have Investors in People accreditation has the capability to generate an additional £176.35 per employee in gross profits per annum, should they seek and gain accreditation'.

North East Business Solutions aims to maximise the capabilities and skills of your people, which in turn will improve your productivity and ultimately profitability.
